TESTIMONIAL

“Securing the James Ellis bursary and having the chance to work with a theatre company like Prime Cut has been totally invaluable to my growth and development as an artist - it was the ideal catapult into working in professional theatre.

The bursary allowed me consistent exposure to various creative processes across a year - including the opportunity to assistant direct a number of projects, to be a part of development workshops on the building of new work, and challenged me as an artist to create my own work in a supportive environment.

The theatre company itself is synonymous with extremely high quality work, wonderful artist development opportunities (such as The Reveal programme) and on a personal level the nurturing support of Artistic Director Emma Jordan and the font of knowledge in their Executive Producer Una NicEoin, along with the support of their entire team resulted in an incredibly enriching, worthwhile and highly enjoyable experience”.

TESTIMONIAL

“I would not be a professional theatre director if I hadn't been lucky enough to spend a year under the mentorship of Emma Jordan and Una NicEoin, as a result of securing a BBC Arts Fellowship award. I learnt what it was to run an independent theatre company, from directing to producing to marketing. I assisted Emma on three shows which was probably the biggest learning curve of my career to date, and directed my first professional show at the end of the year, and as a result, I secured other professional jobs. With the severe shortage of Artist Development programmes here in NI, this one was essential and invaluable.”
