The Girdwood Project

Working with groups across North Belfast, Prime Cut Productions used Drama, Music and Visual Art as a means of exploring the hopes and aspirations of Communities around Girdwood, a previous Army Barracks. This contested space located between 4 different communities provided the opportunity for a shared space, bringing people together from different cultures and traditions.

During the workshops, the participants explored what their own culture and tradition meant, and the relationship that they had with neighbouring communities. In working with other diverse groups they were able to create friendships, dispell myths and develop a sense of ownership of Girdwood Community Hub, seeing this a building that was in their community for their community.
