Small Grants Programme
Ensemble, our current Community Engagement Project is working with different communities from across Belfast, exploring the stories of participants, sharing the similarities and differences that they have with other members of their own communities. After the initial work within each area, there will be the potential for those who are interested to participate in 2 further workshops, alongside other people from across the city, with a showcasing of some of the topics and issues that have been explored during the project.
The project is open to all people. No previous Theatre experience is required. There are a number of ways that people can participate in the project. Maybe you have a story to tell, want to write something, to act or find out more about working behind the scenes. The project will share and celebrating the similarities and diversities of the many lives that make up the DNA of our city in 2014.
The workshops will be tailored to the participants, with the main objective being to create a space where people can come together, share and learn from each other. The project will be a great opportunity for you to work with other people from your area, finding out about them and the area that you live in.
Our initial aim is to hold 2 workshops in each area, each lasting 1.5 to 2 hours. Workshops will happen between January and early March. This will then be followed by the opportunity to participate in workshops that will be held in the MAC, Belfast’s new Arts Centre in the Cathedral Quarter in March, with a small showcase of work at the end of the second workshop.
